A business network is never set up once and for all. The team changes, devices get added, updates pile up. A monthly block of hours sets time aside each month so that someone who knows your network looks after it, instead of waiting until something stops working.

What it is

You choose a number of hours per month. Those hours are reserved for your business and go to work on your network: upkeep, security, changes and advice. The number of hours is agreed in advance, and they go wherever your network needs them that month.

What the hours are for

  • Firewalls: reviewing the rules, applying updates, checking what comes in and what goes out.
  • Business networking and Wi-Fi: adjusting coverage and switches when the office or the team changes.
  • Segmentation and security: separating workstations, guests, cameras and devices that have no reason to talk to each other.
  • Backups: checking that they run, and actually trying a restore.
  • Microsoft 365: accounts, licences, people joining and leaving.
  • Projects: a new office, new equipment, a change of Internet provider.

A block of hours, not a contract for every computer

This is not a contract that covers every computer and every user for a fixed amount per device. MPJM works on the network: the firewall, the Wi-Fi, the switches, the backups and the accounts that hold it all together. You know in advance how many hours are reserved, and what they are for.

Unused hours

Hours reset to zero at the start of each month. Hours not used in a month do not carry over. You can ask us at any time how many hours you have left this month.

Pricing

Our engagements start at $125 per hour.

The final rate depends on the scope and complexity of the engagement.

How to start

  1. The free network analysis, for businesses with 10 or more workstations: about fifteen hours on your network.

  2. A written report on your network’s weaknesses, and what is worth fixing first.

  3. The number of hours per month, agreed together and in writing.
